No Privacy

I have no privacy, not even in the bath.

The Underfeet are everywhere.

Caught up, for now

Here I thought I was all caught up on my earrings and could take a breather.  But then I got "smart" and started to write down my weeks and what I posted - and I found out I was a week short.  That's what organization will get me!
I had experimented several months ago with foil, inks, glitter and a touch of resin to top it off.  I am not sure I these are really my color, but they might look nice in the fall.  The picture on the earring display simply would not focus well, so I was forced to use my windowsill as a background so you can see the details.  Of course, Eyesis had to see what I was doing, so I snapped a pix of her too.

Week 23

She doesn't focus well, either.

Best Place to Be (if you are a cat)

Right now I have my studio torn apart getting ready for the Artisan's show this coming weekend.  If you live in or near the Seattle area and are interested in seeing my work in person, as well as the works of  other talented artists (with a chance to purchase, of course) drop by and see us.

When: Saturday, November 12th – 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
           Sunday, November 13th – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Where: ArtWorks, 201 -2nd Ave. S in Edmonds, WA 98020

Fee: Free Admission

I normally keep the door shut to my studio when not in use -the Underfoots (gotta love them) don't respect my clay or resin or beads (don't get me wrong, they LOVE the beads, just don't respect them -  always pushing them around), so it is prudent to make it a no cat zone.  I keep it unheated unless I am working.  I have been busy all morning with inventory and tagging items for the show.  In and out, in and out and one time (only ONE time) I forgot to close the door.

Luckily the space heater was more attractive than my clay this time.  I found the Rue sprawled. legs splayed, just soaking up the heat.

Let's see, 5 minutes to the stomach then I'll turn and bake my back,

Warmest place in the House?

Looks like Rue found a warm place to take a nap.  Just had to share.

My Next Experience

Well, I did it. I signed up for the Lori Anderson's  Bead Soup Blog hop/exchange.  I had such a great time reading about it a while back, that I wanted to try it myself.  I am number 314 - there are a lot of beaders out there participating.

What you do is get partnered with another beader from the  list. Then you exchange - the rules are you send a focal, a special clasp (no lobster) and co-ordinating beads - no junk, only the good stuff that you would want to get yourself.  And you have to have a blog to let everyone know about it.  And, on the big reveal day, I get to show off what I made.

I am not that adept at jewelery design per se, but I am trying.  And am doing this to force myself to make something outside my comfort zone.

Lori says that your don't have to make your own beads but since that is what I do.....I wonder who my partner will be.  I have been reading some of the other blogs, and there are a lot of interesting and talented artist out there. More blogs to read.... Clapping hands with joy....

And now for a moment of cute.....

I've been Missed

I got back from clay camp this afternoon, after a stop at the Ben Franklin in Monroe.  They have such cool stuff.  I could spend a long time there, but DH was in the car and we were facing rush hour (how something that lasts for 4 or more hours can be referred to as an hour is beyond me).

Finally got home, and got mobbed the instant I stepped inside.  My babies missed me!  Took a nap and all three joined me in the bed, all demanding pets at the same time.  Finally they let me sleep, one at my feet, another at the small of my back, and one draped over my hip. I was so tired.  Clay Camp is another word for sleep deprivation.  So many ideas floating in the head, it is hard to sleep.

I am so late getting off line because Eyesis did not want to leave my lap.  How can I deny her since she was soooo abandoned all weekend.  Will write more later about what happened this weekend, but now for your moment of cute. (I suppose I would have been really sorry if my cell phone had rang)

Note cell phone in pocket.

Momma's little helper??

But Momma, I'm just trying to help! Really...trust me....
Eyesis Rue  can't stand not knowing what is happening since I have been cleaning (which means moving stuff around) in my studio.  She is the most curious cat in the whole Underfoot Clan.  Her little nose is into everything. I can not turn around or try to sit down without almost sitting on her.  She has to inspect everything and approve of where I am moving it to.

Smiling Kats part 11

Us??!  What every would make you think we had ANYTHING to  do with that mouse in your shoe?
I liked my little cat pendant so much, that when I discovered I had a reverse stamp of the same image, I just had to  experiment with it too.  The Underfoot Clan were my inspiration for this piece.  Eyesis Rue is, of course, the little black kitty. Her much bigger sister, Amber Fatone, is a tordie and the model for the larger cat. If only they got along as well in real life as these kitties do in the pendant....sigh.

One Spoiled Brat Cat

I should be claying, but instead am curled up on the couch watching the pilot episode of  "Harry's Law". I like it, then again I have been a fan of Kathy Bates for a long time.

Of course, having a free lap is just too much temptation for my littlest Underfoot.  I have always wanted a lap cat that would prefer MY lap (the majority of my furry friends find my hubbies lap more comfortable). The Eyesis Rue (aka "the Bit" or Puff) uses any and every excuse to crawl in and get comfortable.  Took this pix with my cell phone, so it is rather grainy.

But I do have a piece in the oven baking so this time is not a total waste.  Am also washing the clothes I will be packing for my trip to Tucson this week for the big Bead Show. I have never been and have wanted to go for years. Since I am not getting any younger, I decided to treat myself for my birthday.  I am so excited - will be taking several classes with my favorite polymer clay instructor and all around great person, Christi Friesen. I am  going to be staying with my friend Donna at her sister's house and am also looking forward to see her family again.  This experience should give me a lot to write about.
